reverse gear...

Yesterday, all of a sudden I couldn't shift into reverse or 5th...like the gate was blocked...finally, I slapped it a little harder and it went in to reverse...what's up with this? I've got a 94 d-90 with an R 380...
thanks
George

mine doesn't always like to go into reverse. If it does it again put it into 3rd then try revers again, it normaly works for me.
