Question Restoring my D90 in the UK prior to shipping to the US

I did finally find an all original D90 and it is now sitting with a restoration specialist in Solihull. They are fixing all the common maintenance items, but my main question is - will fixing the 'n/s front o/s front out rigger, rear cross memberí cause any issue with US customs?
The restoration specialist I am using has sent hundreds of Defenders to the US and has stated this should be fine, but I am seeking some guidance as I donít want to have any complications when it gets there. Additionally, does it matter if I have the soft top on or not? I am planning on roll on roll off shipping, but if having the soft top on raises any questions with customs in terms of changes the other options would be simply taking it off and the shipping it in a 20ft container.

FWIW, mine had a new rear crossmember & came in just fine. Of course, a good coat of waxoyl & dirt probably helped ;-)

By the way, where do people go to find trucks in the UK? Ebay? Dealers?

I used this site and was able to find at least 5 all original D90 and 1 D110. If anyone does want info on a few original I will be glad to pass along the details.
