replacing windshields and insurance

My Defender's windsheild/windscreen has a number of small cracks and 2 larger marble sized divots. I think they warrant replacement, but before I do that, I was wondering if anyone has dealt with this and if your insurance premium increased as a result? If it opens a can of worls I can live with the cracks..

I have heard conflicting reports that replacing the windshield does/does not affect the premium.
Thanks in advance

I replaced my windshield on my G6, at the time I had Progressive, it did not raise my premium. I think your best bet is to just call your insurance company or check out their website, they should have it listed some place.

If your still uneasy, call a few glass shops and ask how it's handled or what your insurance company needs to know in regards to having it covered. They are pros at this.

Who do you insure your D with? And when you find out, don't forget a follow up post.

I use MetLife and have 3 cars insured by them. My rate is really good to date and I would hate to affect it. I also need to submit an appraisal and photos of my D-90 and MetLife will insure for a replacement value, not the blue book. Been meaning to do this...
