Replacement water pump options

After having a few repeat failures of cheap replacement water pumps (weep hole slowly leaking) I got a price on a Genuine one through the dealer today for $405 for the newer serp belt style. This is more than I'd like to spend at the moment. Can anyone chime in with some real world positive experience of a good replacement that's lasted? I've heard good things about airtex but they seem to be all around the same price with no proof of better quality above the others.

I assume you need an STC4378 for a D1/D2/P38? I use Airtex pumps here at the shop. I generally sell them for $210. I can get you one and ship it if you'd like. You can also get a pump from AB made by the OEM vendor. They are currently on sale for $130.

Search STC4378G to see pricing for OEM branded pumps.
