Replacement Seats or covers.

Hey all.

Just contacting you from over the pond in what is surprisingly a very sunny United Kingdom. Im in the process of refitting my 1996 300tdi NAS Conversion and have come to the stage of refitting or covering my seats.

I have the standard Defender front seats with a tuffy centre box and am considering either replacing the front seats with new leather front seats or covering the seats. I have seen what appears to be an amazing product on a couple of websites inc. some Jeep sites of neoprene seat covers - what are your opinions on these and where is best to get hold of them?

Also I am considering putting seats in the rear. Thanks to everyone who replied to my last post about the NAS rear bench seat, but have decided that practically speaking they proberly are not of any use. I know you have side facing fold up seats in the USA, but do you have the after market forward facing fold up seats? (link www.exmoortrim.co.uk) If you do and the neoprene covers are recommended do any of you know of any suppliers who would stock or make these items?

Thanks so very much for helping with my questions

Mark

All the neoprene sear sovers I have seen are a bit cheezy IMO. I'd go with leather or any of the exmoor stuff, you are already in the UK there must be plenty of options. Unless you are talking about different neoprene seat covers than the ones I'm thinking of.

Speaking of... does anyone know of a place in the states to get the canvas exmoor seat covers?

Shouldn't be a problem to order direct from them.

I agree with Steve, the covers I've seen over here are cheaply made and look awful after just one use...maybe there are some that are made out of heavier duty neoprene (like wet-suit stuff) but I haven't seen em...

The "wet okole" seat covers look quite crap and all the bright colored ones I've seen have faded out badly. I think they suck.

Thanks for the comments - you might just have saved me the huge embarrassment of ordering and shipping these covers and then being to embarrassed to actually use them. As no one in the UK stocks neoprene covers I kind of rely on you guys to let me know what they are really like – really value your opinions so thanks.

I will properly go with the Leather seats or the G4 range. Oh and out of curiosity do you have forward facing fold up seats in the USA?

Thanks

Oh I think you can order direct from Exmoor Trim as when I spoke to them at the last Land Rover show they did say they exported.

I ordered from exmoor for my G4 seat covers - great quality, great service from exmoor, and great look to the finished product. I've been wanting a set of forward facing fold-ups for a while but other toys have taken priority.
