Removing the inner dash panel

Anyone know how easy/difficult it is to remove the plastic inner dash panel? Going to have mine painted. Does the top dash pad need to be removed first?

I pulled mine without removing the dash pad if I recall correctly, but I would probably remove anyway b/c less chance to mar your new paint on the way back in.

I found a tack remover at Home Depot did the trick removing the trim fasteners; you probably want to order replacements if you haven't already (RNI658/659 at RN) just in case

not to hijack, but what are those inner panels worth? i got one in great shape out of a 94 ST.

taking the pad off does help getting it in and out btw. what color you painting it?

edit: just check RN's site, $300 for a new one? holy crap. the parcel tray is only $48, how do they figure the price diff?...

I was going to go with something as close to original color as possible but think I have changed my mind. May go with Willow Green instead....due to my truck will be Willow as well.
