Red face Removing Fan clutch? I have the wrench.

Trying to remove the ceased fan clutch on my TD5.
I have the correct spanner wrench for the nut. I have a strap around the plastic fins, and I'm hitting the wrench with a hammer. I can't get it loose.
Any tips?

Try hitting it in the different direction

What Brian means is the threads tighten and loosen in the opposite direction as the conventional systems we are familiar with.
Clockwise is to loosen instead of tighten.

To clarify, on the TD5, the tread was normal. Counter clockwise removed the nut.
I also discovered a good tip: Place a 3 inch bolt between the Crankshaft pulley and one of the 3 bolt heads attached the fan shaft.
I was easily able to undo the fan clutch with my 80's Ford F-series spanner wrench.

Hope this helps someone in the future
