removing bell housing bolts from an R380 - tips

just got the new to me rebuildable tranny and any thoughts on removing the bell housing bolts. They seem frozen in place.

right now i am soaking with PB blaster but wow.

Any helpful hints on removal

breaker bar and jack handle for leverage. Worse that will happen is that you shear the head off. Then you can drill and tap. Also try tightening them a little to help break any thread lock.

They are loctite'd in. Those bolts have a nasty habit of backing out and once loose in the bell housing destroying the clutch assemble/pressure plate. Be sure to use loctite when re-installing.

cool thanks - loctite is what i was wondering

i assume Red Loctite? which means i can hit it with some heat as well if needed.

all came out intact... No Loctite on any of them which i assume was from the factory this way.

Not sure what they use but its usually a light tan color. No need for the red- blue is fine on re-assembly.

The bolts we're clean and nothing used on any of them, I use the blue stuff on reassembly

When I do this I use a half inch impact gun with an extension. They came right out.
