Exclamation relocating the handbrake

Hi All, having moved the handbrake on a 110 i owned to give me more legroom, i was wondering if anybody had relocated the handbrake on a new 90. I have previously moved the cubby towards the passenger seat and fitted the handbrake next to it. worked a treat. As my new 90 is yet to be delivered (its being built in UK. I live in australia)..its a question in advance...... cheers

On non-puma trucks it is easy to swap sides. You will have to source a LHD Hand brake if it is the same as older trucks. I do not know if the seatbox has the knock outs like the older trucks do.

I'm jealous that you can order a Defender. Jealous of that 2.2 diesel six speed stick etcetc..

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

If you don't mind, could you provide a bit of info on where you moved your handbrake on the 110, and how you went about it? I have a 1998 110 and I am looking to do the same thing. It is a Camel vehicle so I want to be able to revert to the original setup, and minimize as much as possible the effects of the repositioning on the cab. So I'm on a bit of a scouting mission to see how folks have done theirs.

It moved the handbrake onto the area next to the drivers seat the cubby was moved towards the passenger seat to make space.. From memory no new parts were used..I just filled the holes with grommets.. Hope that helps

I would not think it is that simple on the new trucks.... I think everyone is talking about the pre-Puma interiors.

OK, now I'm confused... I don't see any year reference in the first post. You did say "new 90", so I assumed you meant a completely new truck.

Is it a 2002 model OR is it a Puma? Pumas first came out in 2007.

Right. This forum is mostly people from the USA and there are not many Pumas about. You would get a safer answer on the Australian forum. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/index.php
