Rear Tire Carrier

In the "Product Review" section I checked out the Shrockworks ST Rear Tire Carrier. Went to Shrockworks' website and the rear tire carrier is "No Longer available". Just when I find something i really like they either make it illegal or discontinue it. Any ideas?

Buy guns and other soon-to-be-outlawed items now while you still can.

Look at carriers from Mantec or Safarigard.

Print off the pictures he has on his web site and have a local welder "fab" one up. I bet it costs about the same as what he was asking for them.

Shrockworks made a run of 6 or 8 a while back for some of us. He might do it again if there is enough interest.

You live in the same town as one of the best Rover custom fab shops in the country Rockware! You're new, so I won't hold it against you.
Seriously, Matt makes some of the finest and most sought after products for Defenders available. Look at some of the bios here on the site to see how many of us have his stuff on our vehicles (or formervehicles). Look at the bottom of the page here for a tire carrier example.
Here's my favorite: Rockware tire carrier

Art Vigil

I just spoke to Rockware today and they will make a custom spare carrier/rear bumper combo for about $1,500.00, add more jing for the add-ons - jack mounts, can holder, etc..

Anyone know what a replacement rear door costs?

Thank you for your input. I talked to Rockware when I first got my Defender about gas can carrier. At the time they did not have any good solutions and did not seem real interested in working with me to find a solution. That was several years ago.

Besides, I just think the Shockworks tire carrier, from the picture, just might be the best thing since sliced bread and indoor plumbing. It is like falling in love. There might be other ladies out there but the one your in love with is better than any of them.

Tried that once and IT JUST AIN'T THE SAME! Beside way should I settle for second best. Like the lady in my life desires the best so does my Defender.

If your really on for one of the Shrockworks, the one in the SW pictures is mine. If I go with a Rockware carrier, the one I have will be for sale unless Tony wants it first.
