rear tail light bar worth saving?

Is this even worth trying to fix, or should I just get a new one... and then, where can I get a new one..
thanks\

ECR can rehab it for you. http://www.eastcoastrover.com/187.html

Or talk to Mike (ECR) about sourcing the part.

if its just mainly that plate that is bad then yes definitely keep it and re-build it. its just four screws (youll probably just grind them off) and the light parts come off, then get it to metal or if you have to, get a new plate welded on. If the actual tubing is shot (as mine was) or if there is evidence of lots of internal rust, then I guess it would probably be easier to find one or get something fabbed. If its jsut mainly the plate, then restore it. I dont want to know what a replacement costs.

i guess you just have to ask yourself:
got more cash or time?

I got a new bar and light from George at RDS. I don't recall it being to bad. I'll take a look to see what I paid for a new one.

Last spring, I re-finished my third brake light bar. Mine was starting to blister and peel. I used a paint scraper to scrape off all of the polyester coating. It took about two hours to remove the coating which is very thick. Then I took it to have it sand blasted and powder coated (approx $50). Also, prior to installing back my truck, I filled the bar with rust inhibitor wax. I used rubber gaskets between the bar mounting plates and the tailgate, along with SS hex bolts and nylon washers.

Cheers

Bryan,

I actually do need just the lamp if you have one. Let me know how much you want for it. I gave my light away when I sold my SG carrier and now I want to add it back.

Thanks,

Joe
