Rear Swing Gate Hinge Bolt replacement

Looking to replace the bolt that drops through the hing arms on a 95ST. I ordered 2 from Rover North but don't have directions. I was told you drop the bolt through then put the brass ball, followed by the spring and then the lock nut. Doesn't seem right. Anyone familiar with this fix?

I did this on my 94. I believe that kit is actually for a series truck. I had the same kit, but a found that I did not need the brass ball part. I put the bolt through, then push the spring on from the bottom, then lock washer, then the nut. It was a tricky deal getting all that to stay in place with one hand while threading the nut with the other. On a good note, my rear door swings perfect, does not sag, and makes no noise. I assume it would be the same process on the 95, but not for sure.

There is a ball there already between the two halves of the hinge. You can replace that at the same time or not.

The ball is what wears. You need to take off one side of the hinge, replace the ball, drop the pin in (set the ball in hole side up), put the spring on, put the washer on, put the nut on and then bend over the tab on the washer.

I pack everything with a ton of antisieze, ball, shaft, nut etc.
