Rear stub axel threads worn
So I have had a problem with my rear wheel bearings comming loose... on a 110 with disks.
While repacking the rears yesterday I noticed the stub threads (on either side of the flat section) where the inner washer pushes against the bearing, were worn and that it allowed the flat sid of the washer to move a couple degrees in either direction. The washer is the thicker version. This is the inner washer not the one in between the nuts.
Could the worn threads on either side of the flat section on the stub axel be causing the wheel bearings to become loose? Mabye skrewing up my preload? I have to crank hard to get the preload correct... no greessy hub wrench... 12in skrewdriver and some muscle, and it is not too tight, I'm getting it just right.
any place to get a sal. rear stubs for decent $$??
