Rear speaker pods

I am looking for something that I saw on Ebay awhile back. They were speaker pods that went up in the rear corners of the SW. They actually mount right up against the headliner at the very top. Does anyone know were I can find these? Or does anyone know a part number? My guess is that they are off of a late model TD5.

Has no one but me seen these before? They were on Ebay about 4 months ago.

Genuine part fitted to Defender models from 02 to present day.

IIRC, LR dealer price was something like £35.00 per side ( $60-00-ish) when I last checked.

That isn' t what he's referring to. They fit in the TOP rear corners. I believe there was a old thread about them, but I can't find it.

That is correct. They go in the rear corners at the top with the headliner. I am glad someone else has seen them. I was starting to think I was going crazy.

I've searched and searched, cannot find the thread on it. Some guy on lr4x4.com custom made a set, but I like the stock looking one better.

When I bought my 110, it had some custom made ones. I didn't like them much as I kept hitting my head on them.

I might still have them up on the loft; would have to check.

The ones that I am talking about are made out of molded plastic. I am thinking that they are factory option in the 2003 up D-110's. I wish I could find them. They use to be on Ebay all the time but I have not seen them in a few months.

I've never seen any roof mounts or am aware of anything offered by the factory that fits that description, even on the current 08 models.

These are the rear "pods" that were made by the sound shop (Car Toys) when I had my system installed. I think they fab ed them out or MDF.

They are out there. I am not 100% for sure that they are factory items. They were on ebay for the longest time and now I have not seen them in months. It does not appear that many people have seen them before. Stephen at safari rover know what I am talking about and he is also trying to find them.

Landrover has never made any accessory for mounting speakers in the rear of a Defender anywhere else than below the rear sidelight window.

You thinking these???

Custom made for a D90 so far as I know. I would bet they would be somewhere in the $1800+ range to do something like that...

I have a pair I believe originally made to fit around a soft top roll bar as the bottom is a tube shape curve. They turned out nice up here. I am sure they were homemade by fit the contour of the roofline perfect.
