Rear Fender Well Shields

I came across a red ST (fiber top) here in Centennial CO that had metal shields in the rear fender wells. It looked like a good way to keep out all the mud and crap out of the back end and moisture away from the tail lights. Does anyone know if this was a homemade job or does someone sell them?

I think he meant fender well liners, to keep tire spray and mud out of the lights etc.

Actually I think LR made a part like that out of plastic. I ordered one, but never got around to seeing how to install it.
You would think someone would make one aftermarket ones for the lower front fenderwell to protect the bulkhead, and ones for the front and rear of the rear fenderwells to keep mud and gunk down on the frame and rear kights
Not like it would affect the tires clearance or anything
