Question rear bench seat for D-90 SW

Has anyone out there ever put a forward-facing rear bench seat in a D-90 SW (with removal of the jump seats)? If so, what are your recommendations?

I'm trying to modify my rig so my young son can ride with me (safely). Without this mod., my wife will "encourage" me to sell it.

(If this subject has been discussed previously, I apologize.)

I'd be interested to see. I have a few holes in the rear of my truck, and I'm assuming a former owner may have done that prior to puchase...

Sorry, but that email link is dead. I'm installing mine this week to be exact. If you've got any questions just shoot me an email to medaniel@msn.com

I am looking to do the opposite. switch from a forward facing bench to 4 jump seats. maybe we could work out some kind of swap? I priced the conversion and it wasn't cheap.

Can't the wife just ride in back??? Would be much easier than a seat swap!

Sorry William, but I've already sold my Jump Seats and installed a rear bench. I managed to get $600 for all four and purchase my rear bench from a private seller for about $350 if I remember correctly. However, it cost me an extra $100 to get all the brackets blasted and re-powder coated. I know there are a few guys out there that are looking for a rear bench. If you'd like I'll send one of them your way if he hasn't already located one? Just PM me.

bandit-

I'd possibly be interested in a swap of sorts, i.e., your rear bench/seat belts/hardware for my 4 jump seats/seatbelts/hardware. The jump seats are in excellent condition, but have yet to be removed. How's the condition of your rear bench seat?
It's my understanding that the jump seats would fetch more on the market than the bench. Is that your understanding as well? Anyone else care to offer their two cents on the subject?
There's also the issue of shipping...

P.S. Chris-- putting my wife in the back seat would result in two things... (1) the "enjoyment" of back-seat driving and (2) an ill-tempered, nauseous wife. Gotta go with the swap.

Mark-

Bench seat is in excellent condition as well. The seats didn't seem to be the expensive part, although the jump seats were slightly more. I priced converting and the most overpriced part seemed to be the 4 seat belts (probably insurance and liability issues). All four seats were $800 new. the seat belts were $120 each which surprised me. I also got a quote of $500 on install and new floor mat for the back( the holes are in different places).

William-

Under the circumstances, it seems like it would be in our best interests to simply swap seats/hardware and call it a day. I assume you've got all the parts for the rear bench - seat belts, brackets, etc. I guess the real issue is the cost associated with shipping across the country. Then again, it's still a better deal than having to buy the seats.

Rovers North has a bench seat in their clearance section from a military defender. I think a fresh coat of powder and a new seat from Badger and viola!

Well, it's a bit too late Mark, but if it doesn't work out with William for any reason, I wouldn't mind having those SW seats. I can trade you my bench as well for it. Please let me know. Thanks.

Yo DJ. Where did you mount the seat belts? When I converted my ST to SW I drilled a hole in the upper right corner and attached there. However, I did not have the inside panels, so can you tell me how you installed your. Picture would be too.

William-

I'm still interested in swapping seats. If you are too, let me know and we'll work out the logistics. 'Course I've still gotta remove mine and figure out how much it'll be to ship them to you.

Mark-

Sorry it took so long to respond. I wanted to find out if the jump seats would fit with the new Badger tonneau cover I just installed. Unfortunately, Chris informed me that they wouldn't since they rise above the side of the truck bed when folded. I am going to take a pass on the swap until I can figure out a way around this.

BTW- I installed the strapless bimini, 1/2 tonneau cover, and drop curtain quickly and easily. They look great, fit great, and I would Highly recommend Badger to anyone considering a new top.

No problem, Bill.

Hey, Glenn, looks like my jump seats are still up for a possible swap! If you're still interested, let me know. Just want to know if your seat and belts are in good condition, and if you'll be parting with the brackets as well.
