ready to buy JW Speaker headlights have questions

There is a set for $750 on ebay for Jeeps that include some kind of conversion harness from H4. Can I just throw away the conversion harness for a jeep and plug the H4 connector in directly?

The next question: do I need to install a relay or are they low power enough to just wire into the existing harness with no mods?

I would think the conversion harness just adapts from the H4 plug on the housing to whatever the Jeep uses, so you can probably toss it.

They definitely draw less than the stock headlamps, so you don't necessarily need a relay. The last set I ran just plugged directly into the stock harness on the truck and were good to go. There's a measurable drop in voltage when running directly off the switch, but for an LED application I don't know that you will see an increase in output if you were to power them off a relay.

If you call Discount Fleet Supply, they will discount the JW Speaker 8700. I called last week for a price and they said they could do $700 for the pair. Just a thought.

No problem, glad to help. I'm about to buy a set of LED headlights myself. I agree that the JW Speak look nicer from an outward appearance. And from the research I've done, the JW Speaker is better on low beam BUT the Trucklite Phase 7 is better on high beams. The Trucklite is $355 for a set. (That price is the best they can do.) I'm going with Trucklite, try as I might I just can't justify spending the difference.
