Mine seems to cut ignition briefly at ~95 mph indicated. A scan of the 14CUX manual didn't net anything, ideas?

Ok that's good, does anyone have a manual with it documented?

The fact that you had the courage to get your Defender up to 95 mph is worth applauding! I have had mine up to 80 mph per my Lowrance GPS (showed a just under 90 on speedo) and with the skinny 7.50 x 16 tires I have and no rear sway bar I felt any more may not end well!

Actually felt fine up to an indicated 100 mph (actual is less for my truck) Interesting thing is it only seems to happen when pushing through 95mph, then doesn't happen again. I'm not running sway bars f/r but I did use to drive rally cars / autoX / race so use to a bit of vaugueness

My suggestion, as others expressed above, is don't do 95mph in a Defender. Ever.

haha.. no it's a NAS 3.9 V8 and it will do 100 mph indicated - takes a while though to go from 85-100 mph and be relatively flat.

mine actually runs really good, most of my Highway cruising is done at an indicated 80-85 mph the actual is in the 70's since my speedo reads fast by about 8mph.

I don't think I could hit 100 unless I drove it off a cliff.

it can be done. This D was snapped as it passed 90mph and still accelerating

I do stand corrected...with terminal velocity at around 122mph, I suppose it is possible or a D to go faster than 95.

Wussies. I always swap out the chip or computer for a disco/RRC one to eliminate the 89mph governor. A stock NAS D90 is perfectly stable at that speed. It is as loud as being in a tent next to a jet and fuel consumption is in the single digits, but if properly maintained it is fine. Of course, not recommended and I don't do it anymore.

FWIW I seem to recall that mine would cut out around 85 mph. Used to get there often and and often wanted to go faster in traffic.

Actually...I now think that Rob does go that fast in his 90, with that "diesel bomb glint" in his eye. The man is an animal I tell you! Ripping out phones, urinating on desks...did you see what he did to Ms. Cochran's shirt?

Only way I managed 85 GPS speed was drafting about eight feet off the rear bumper of a Ford Raptor.

Slappy and the gang say "You think that's funny? Bring it yotch!" PS they all have concealed weapons (water and bullets)
