Rad fan shroud part # ?

What's the part # for the rad fan shroud on a '97 3.9 v-belt NAS 90 ? Have found lots of conflicting #'s but it looks like this http://www.defendersource.com/forum/.../8084/1389.jpg

Hi, Andy-

Part of the confusion may be the year/exact engine combo you're looking for.

NAS 97s came with the GEMS 4.0 V8, and use two-part shrouds, part #s ERR7307 and ESR3226. These are the same part numbers as used on the UK-spec 98 50th Anniversary trucks and the upper part (ESR3226) came on Discos. I had the latter lower part (ERR7307) on backorder with three different part vendors for more than two years without ever actually getting one, as they're seemingly no longer available or impossible to actually get, although still appearing on the RN and other sites. (LR kept sending a different Disco part number in its place to them, although not telling people it was superseded. They're not identical.) I did finally buy a similar Discovery lower cowl used to see what the deal was, and laying it on top of my existing 97 4.0 cowl, you can trim the Disco one to fit the same. It's basically the same with some extra plastic in the corners that needs to be removed. If you're game for working it, the Disco GEMS ones can be had for cheap used, you just need to carefully trim them.

The 94/95 NAS trucks had 3.9 14CUX/V8s (as shown in your photo) and use a different part number, #NTC5685, a one piece cowl.

You just need to verify which setup you have, but based on your photo, I believe you need the 14CUX 94/95 one.

Hope this was helpful!

Thanks Chris,

My D90 has an ex-RaRo 3.9 in it so the #NTC5685 is the one.... I actually looked at that but it seemed to be screwed onto the rear of the rad & not the top.... maybe it got changed over the years.

Anyway will get one of those & the Disco VC & fan.... ERR3439 & ERR3443

Might finally get it running under MS this year

Cheers !
