R380 Upper Main Housing and Bias Springs

The problem: extreme slop in r380 gear level.

The Diagnosis: Found to be from severally worn upper main housing.

The mechanical problem now: I am unable to move the arms of the bias springs in to position even after using the below YouTube tip with long sockets. Once in the upper spot, they continuously swing downward as I attempt to remove the sockets.

Any tips? Thanks!
