R380 Rebuild

My transmission went out on me again (2nd one) outside the Holland Tunnel. I didn't know what it was but it just wasn't going into gear. I was hoping it punched through the fork or something easy... but after inspection wasn't.

After about 8 tries we got the truck up on the "lift" and I ripped out the transmission and transfercase. I noticed right away the shafts on the r380 did not spin together in any gear. So I ripped the case apart to find the main shaft was sheered in two! The spline was in perfect condition so the weak spot was in the metal.

Does anyone have an r380 part number list? I know I need a new main shaft, main shaft bearing. I think 5th gear spacer and an oil pick up seal or something like that. I guess I could show these photos to RN and they should piece me together the bits I need.

Rob D. in ABQ is fantastic, if you choose not to rebuild it yourself.

Yeah should be a suffix J box. Was out of a '95 NAS. I think the J and K,L boxes have a different main shaft.

Ron, I will PM you. TD5 is a suffix L right?
