back in the crate in the garage, waiting for a possible attempt at a rebuild down the road. It was fully functioning, but just had a noisy layshaft bearing. A rebuild kit from ashcroft would have me a spare someday.

does very nice rebuilds of LT230s and R380s. His prices are not far off (if at all...) the Ashcroft prices and he usually has some freshly-rebuilt units ready to ship from his shop in Albuquerque. He's also a really good guy and easy to work with.
I did talk to Rob, and he didn't have any on hand. Plus, it was over $2k for a rebuild from him with core, plus shipping charges of the core and rebuild back and forth. So that made ashcroft with no core charge faster and cheaper. The one thing he has going though is the warranty stateside.
