R380, a lot. You have to make the computer ok with not having a transmission. If you mean swapping in an LT230, no biggy at all.

would an early DII manual tranny be accepted by the computer and what does it take to give the existing transfer CDL as I assume it must be simple considering they are the same as the 04?

The '04 is different. Are you sure that Dll 's even came with a manual? I'm not sure.

To fit a manual is a process, I've considered it many times, and sometimes I still do until I remember how much work is needed. It's not like a Dl at all.

Are you planning on having at systems function correctly? Like TC, HDC, ABS etc?...

Check Discoweb.org. There's a bunch of people who have added CDL to their 03s. I think you just need a new transfer case with the CDL nipple.

Your a good dude. Sorry I got on your nerves when I first got here. You have a lot of knowledge and are very helping. Thank you.

Follow-up Post:

transfer case in 03 is same as 04 right?

linkage different only? Talking about the lack of CDL

thanks

I have a lift but havent seen the underside of an 04.

My thought is that I don't care about the abs and traction system at all. I dont care about the airbags in the back.

The tires were original and very bad at 56k. I bought 285s and 2" springs are coming. At least a rear locker and upgraded driveline parts are in the future. My wife told me to buy something safe for my 1yr old. I can't do something boring. She has her baby hauler, I have mine.
