Later MOD 110's did in fact come with an R380 mated to the 2.5 NA diesel. I am driving one myself. The bell housing on this gearbox is shorter allowing the 2.5 to sit farther back in the engine compartment.
If you want to mate this gearbox to a 200Tdi, you would need to swap the clutch housing from the 2.5 NA the gearbox was originally attached too onto the Tdi. Not sure if this is doable with the 2.25 diesel.
I am about to but a 300Tdi into my 110 but have decided instead of mucking about with trying to install the engine in the rearward position (because of the shorter bell housing), I have found an R380 with the longer bell housing. Should make the install much simpler.
I am thinking of putting the 2.5 NA and R380 out of the 110 into my Series 3 88.
