Quick question on rear spring diameters

hello,

Anyone know if the inner diameter of the rear springs is the same between a 1985 110 and a 1997 90? That could help me out on my search for helper springs or helper airbags. 99% sure its a Salisbury but I'm not in the same state as the truck to double check.

Thanks
Oscar

They are not. The 110 inner diameter is bigger.

The 110 inner "helper" springs are quite a lot smaller (in diameter) than a 90 spring.

I've got a set on my 110... want me to measure them?

WHy not get the right springs? Like ROn said, the 110 springs are wider than the 90 springs.

I don't really follow your question. I have a 110 with, what I assume to be, OEM 110 springs. But I think I might be confusing the situation.

Let me rephrase my question.

I have a 110. I would like to order a helper airbag set up, but the only airbags I am finding are for D90s. So I hoped that they were the same size. Evilfij thanks for the info I guess considering the likely weight rating difference it would make sense that the 110 would be a larger spring.

Diesel Jim, if you could let me know where you found the helper springs that would be cool.

I tend to tow and have a bike mototote hitch mounted bike hauler when I only lug one bike around. The air bags and helper springs usually do the trick. Although with that crazy center mounter shock thing under the 110 it may not be needed, but Im not even sure if that thing is still doing its job.

Here is a pic of the D1 that led me to buy springs or bags on subsequent LRs.

I also have a bike hauler for my bike but my rear springs are rated to carry the extra load, get some rear springs to handle the load.

110 and 130 Rear springs are 7" outside diameter.

All other classic LR coil springs are 6" OD.

Inside diameter varies with the coil used.

I have a set of rear D110 springs and the Firestone Air bags, if I get a chance tomorrow I'll take some pics.

Aren't 130 rear springs a sort of double spring inner/outer setup?

some are... only the HD setup, some 130's just have a single spring a la 110. (and some 110's have the win spring setup for HD.... or maybe XHD? although mine doesn't seem too stiff, they're quite progressive.)
