Question about replacement doors

Hey, any of you guys ever intalled these kinds of doors? It's off a newer model Defender in the UK, am thinking of bidding as they have roll up windows (and mine are falling apart).

You'll need a new door striker, some shims and backing plate as well as a new style door catch for the bulkhead and some minor mods to fit the catch to the bulkhead.

Speaking of which, does anyone know if the shims have a part number or do they come as a kit with the striker? The torx on my striker backed out and I lost a few of my shims. Now I have slam the door just to get it to close.

Don't have the part # on hand, but when you replace it do it a different way.
Factory way was
body:shims:spacer:striker

This way works much better and keep the shims from shifting:
body:spacer(open side towards body):shims: striker

Ahh....nice! I wouldn't have thought of that.

Thanks Mike.

Yup, the factory way, the action of the door likes to squirt the shims out of position making it hard to close the door. Why they put the open end of that spacer right up next to shims is a mystery to me.
Have fun!
