Rick,

Not sure as to the total value. I'd be interested in the lower dash fascia (the piece with the vents, that runs the length of the dash.) Were are the control switches for your particular model?

Thanks,

John

The controls are in the dash above the clock. It worked well, the right 3 louver vent is broke & the lower fascia has a minor crack.

That is the one I'm looking for -- would you be willing to part it out to me?

Thanks,

John

probably will sell it as a whole together. however, as we are all familiar, removing items from our beloved defenders usually requires some "convincing" and things get sacrificed in the process.... so i will let you know when i get it out to see what is left. what all were you looking for?

I am wanting to take out the AC as well. The only thing holding me up is how to handle the lack of ac compressor on the belt? Havent found anything for a 4.0 w/o air.

i fortunately do not have the serpentine setup, it is v belt driven. i thought there was a thread dealing with this, either a shorter belt or a way to reverse the pulley tensioner or something.

I remember the thread, but I thought it was for 3.9, not 4.0?

I thought all 97s came with the compressor installed but the AC was an option. Why not leave it?

Also I don't have AC in my truck but I would think if it was already installed why bother removing?

I want the leg room back and I never use it. I have the top on it 3 months a year and the rest of the time it open.

IMHO the AC sucks. Sure it blows cold, but in a softop, the only thing that get cool is your knees.

Rick,

I'm just needing that lower dash fascia. Please let me know if you end up not being able to sell the unit as a whole and would sell it separately.

Thanks,

John
