Putting front light surrounds on an exmod 90

Hey does anyone have pics or anything of how to removes the front parking lights and turn signals on an exmod 90, not just the lenses?

Also for the bolts that hold the bezel on, are the nuts usually part of the body panel or are those some kind of clip on nuts I can buy somewhere?

Thanks.
Johnny

I did this. Pull the lenses and bulbs. Three screws hold the metal bezel to the body. No nuts or bolts. Small screws. Pull on the bezel and you will expose the rubber enclosure of the light socket. Just wiggle it back and forth and the whole damn thing will pop out.

Just cautious of pulling on the wires too hard the ex mod trucks have wires tapped to wires tapped to connectors etc. if you inadvertently pull a wire out of its connection you may have to spend DAYS figuring out where the hell it attaches to.

If you have specific questions about upgrading lights, headlight bowls etc I can help. Just PM me.

Josh

As a follow up; rovers north has the square threaded inserts that pop in to those square punch outs in the sheet metal. You need 4 plus the small bolts. No nuts. The upgraded lenses screw on THROUGH the plastic headlight surrounds to hold that side of the plastic piece on.

Here is a before and after...

I haven't bought them yet, wanted to see how hard it was going to be to replace the lights.

I'm going to get these :

Replacing the lights is easy. Rovers north has them.

So you need your four lamps (2 clear 2 amber) the plastic nut inserts, the bolts that go into them to hold the plastic surrounds on and the surround pieces you link to. I was sent what I was TOLD was the correct ones but turns out they were for a different year and the hole cut outs didn't line up.

You cannot re use the screws that hold the MOD light bezels on, they are too short to go through the new lamps, plastic surround and then into the metal. Hit Home Depot for a 1" stainless version of the same screw which will give you plenty of room.

Next and last thing is wire crimp connectors (not sure what they are exactly called) See how the lamps come they may already have male ends crimped on so you can just buy the matching female ends and splice them in. Heat shrink them if you can.

The lamps don't come with bulbs but you can reuse the bulbs from the mod fixtures (at least mine didn't). The new fixtures have a funky metal grounding tab that the screw needs to go through before it attaches to the truck. Maybe it's obvious to others but I wired it up and put a bulb in the fixture and turned the directional on to test my connections without screwing it to the truc it didn't work. I though I had a bad bulb but then realized that when you bend the metal tab to the position that would allow you to put a screw through it and then through the plastic fixture, it makes the appropriate connection and will work (as long as its wired properly).

Hope that may save you some heartache!
