Purge Valve Flow Fault

Fault: 0441

Before I pay $334 (plus labor) for a Charcoal Canister Purge Valve with AEL, anyone have a cheaper solution? I just dropped $1900 in repairs and maintenance last week.

Before you drop the $334 you may want to try this.

A guy on LRF patched it in and I bought one did the same. You will want to carefully cut off the tubing from the push-connect fitting on the plenum side. You'll need to reuse this one. Get about 3ft of vacuum tubing and splice it in. Push the vacuum tube on the charcoal canister and run a short length to the new purge valve. Then run a longer piece of vacuum line from the valve to the reused push-connect fitting on the plenum.
The electrical plug is a direct fit with the LR one.
Half of the reviews are from D2 owners, LOL.
Might be worth a try before plunking down serious cash.

Since it shows as a Disco I part, I am sure one of the rover recyclers will have one used much cheaper. Heck, you could almost buy a whole DI for the price of that!

You can use the D1 part, the only thing different on a Defender is the line.
