PU Cab Cage

Anyone have pictures of a way to tie the stock front cage into a PU cab?

Ron Peppard did it on the red 90 I bought from him. I still have the exterior rear hoop and the interior hoop which bolt thru the cab to each other. It looked like a very secure setup. I don't know if he has any photos, but next time I'm at the shop I can take photos of the two pieces so you can see them. They are also available if your interested.

Here you go

There is a hoop inside the cab behind the seats that goes up to the roof and connects to the outside

That looks like it, I have it sitting over against some parts shelves and haven't looked at it for a year or so. I'll be over there Saturday and take another look and take some jpegs.

Dave, I've been trying to figure out speakers for the 110 pickup. I like your location in the headliner. What speakers did you use and how do they sound?

Ron, I think someone posted pics of a pu cab and front hoop set up recently. Ex rovers north rig IIRC.

No offense Chris and Dave, but that is fugly.

Cabell, I saw that one from RN, but it won't work with my set up because I have the long ends on the A-pillar. I want something like the one dave posted, but I want it to mount to where the diagonals go, not the back of the tub.

Ron

That is why it is not on my vehicle But you asked. Safety Devices makes some rollcages for the D90 and D110 pickup, I have one that is going on my next project.

Now that I think about it, that could be fixed. If you cut it off where the cage would go above where the diagnal mounts and welded a downbar, it would look fine.

now im just a layman, and watched a ton of building trucks and fabbing shows. but i dont think you could do that cause it would take away from the integrity of the hoop around the top of the vehicle. out of all the build ups ive seen, i have only seen welds and no bolted connections.

unless its entirely for show, then i dont see a problem with it

something more like this?
North off road website
90 Hard Top - Part Internal, Part External Roll CageA part internal part external cage built to the customer's specification.

Follow-up Post:

forgot to ask what type of rear section are you going to have? like a modern pickup where the bed is seperate from the cab so that there is a gap. or a hcpu rear section?

NAS rear section. I invision a cage that just attaches to the front cage and has two down bars that mount to the factory diagonal mounts. I will probably give up on the idea once my hardtop from Ren Ching finds its way from DC.

no worries Ron, I had it done at a local shop and they did not stick to my design.

The only thing they did that I asked for was the inside hoop, I had wanted the outside to wrap around the back (not the v shape part) and then come down to the capping where the 45 degree part of a soft top cage ends

ohhh well
