Preserving Production Data on B-Pillar

Has anyone attempted to preserve the production stickers on the driver's side B-pillar? I am going to replace the whole thing, but am concerned about losing that production info. The vertical part of the assembly is solid. I've thought about grafting the existing vertical piece to a new assemble. Am I crazy to do so?

BTW, I thought about trying to preserve the sticker itself, but it appears to be a tamperproof design.

John,
I am looking at this very same thing. I talked to my fabrication guy and the plan is to cut off the entire vertical section from the orginal and attach to new t-support. This has not been done yet as I am still collecting parts for other work that will be done at the same time, but I would be interested to hear what others have done.

My plan was to cut it out and rivet it to the new t-piece.

If you go into a Land Rover dealership. With current registration and a drivers licence, you should be able to get them to produce/order a new sticker for you. This is my experience. Yours may differ.

Just got off the phone with the local dealership and they do appear to be able to replace the B-pillar sticker, as well as the dash vin plate if needed. Going to head over with the paperwork this week and see how things go.

Stopped by the dealer today with my current vehicle registration. They made a copy, took my phone number and said they would call when it came in. They were not sure if it would even cost anything, but did think it would take several weeks. Additionally, the manager of the dealership may, or may not, need to inspect the vehicle for matching VIN information before releasing the replacement sticker and dash plate (I went ahead and requested both). I will post additional information once I hear back from the dealer.

Hi Matt,

How did this turn out? I'm finally starting my B-Pillar replacement.

We get the replacement stickers from LRNA for when we do paint/rust work, but they are a newer version and do not look the same as the 1993 sticker. They look like the black decal in the door of a D2. They are too big to fit on the T support however. Just FYI.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

So what's the recommendation? Cut out and rivet on? Any other ideas?
