Power Windows?

Anyone install power windows in a D110? Would like to have this accessory if its not too much hassle and would think something generic from Summit or JCWhitney could be used to work.

Anyone done this? I searched and didn't get much info.

HeloBubba did it. It's in his for sale thread on selling front doors.

Check out the Spal window kits.

Researched this for a while....lots of guys here have them and the Spal units stand up to the abuse....their kids.

Not affiliated with them.

I am also going to install the door lock kit at the same time.

The only issue I'm having is the switches... I can't decide what type and where to mount them.

Maybe you all have an idea.

Hope it helps.

I use Discovery window switches which fit in the factory holes in the Td5 style dash.

I've pondered a power window conversion as well.

About the switches:

MudStuff makes a center-dash switch panel replacement. It takes stock style switches that will match others in your truck.

MudStuff offers switches as well, but not the momentary (ON)-OFF-(ON) switch appropriate for power windows. But you can find one at Mouser Electronics.

E-Switches part number R5GBLKBLKHF0 is a DPDT (ON)-OFF-(ON) switch with up/down arrow markings. Part number R5DBLKBLKEF0 is the same switch but with no markings. You can search for those part numbers at Mouser.com

thanks for the info... its a great idea for the 90's but i need room for 4 switches on the 110 most likely 5 switches. Personally i bought 3 milspec locking switches for that location. I think thats the best location for the critical componet controls and accidental activation would be minimized there.

This style of switch. Aircraft Pull safety.... For lockers etc.

I'm pretty convinced the cubby / center console is my answer for the windows but havent found a elegant solution other than drilling holes. I can fab an aluminum plate then mount it or have one of the specialty shops on the net make me a panel to mount there.

Though, I keep returning to the idea of standard carling switches with there own modular surround.

Super reliable and most important for me... dust resistance.

Thanks for your input.

I've installed a couple of sets recently, seemed to work well enough, haven't had a chance to see long term.. There are a couple of kits available on eBay, but you don't want the cable drive ones, the kit that has the whole power window regulator is the best.. I'm installing another set this week and I will take pics as I go....if it's okay by fish head.

Thanks. Could you link me to one of these kits that you've used? Pics would be great too.

On the newer puma doors yes. Simply unbolt the manual regulator and replace with the electric one. Its pretty easy to add central locking @ the same time. Finding oe power regulators for the earlier style doors can be expensive.

How do you remove the polygon piece used for the roll up windows to put the adapter on for the power regulator? I just got the Spal Deluxe kit.
