At $12,300.00 it would be too rich for my blood. Plus the hubs are a Mercedes bolt pattern.

He will do them in the Land Rover pattern or whatever you want. They have been around for many years.

$12k in the axle world isn't unheard of. Call up Rock Jock or one of the custom axle builders. One can easily blow $20k on a pair of custom axles.

I'd be ok with getting away from the rover hub pattern. 5x5.5" or something would be fine. Plenty of wheel choices. Also I'd totally go with a set of 35" tires on 17s.

A truck cab 90 with these would be a full on beast off road.

OK I get it but ........$$$ I have always wanted a set but just cant wrap my head on the price.

His email to me inferred he was only doing the MB bolt patters now.

The prices is actually quite good for what you are getting. It should really be north of $20k.

Cheaper than MOPAR portals, that's for sure!

As far as wheels go, I'm guessing you need a bolt pattern that has the diameter of the wheels necessary to fit the portals.

Why not just go full mog axle at that point?
