por 15 in waxoly spray gun?

Is it possible to use por 15 in the waxoyl spray guns. I'm thinking of using this first on the small amount of rust I have. I want to spray this inside the frame then do the waxoly over top.

Anyone ever done this?

Thanks

IME......POR-15 needs fairly serious prep to the surface if you want it to stick. Spraying it inside a frame will lead to itcoming off and providing a better spot for rust to form. I would suggest just using Waxoil on the inside. Leave the POR to area that are rusty and you can prep prperly.

John,
prep for the POR15 is just making sure there are no flakes and so forth...it needs a rusty surface to adhere to...it will not work over bare metal...

POR-15 is NOT a converter. It is simply a coating that is meant to seal out moisture. If you want to convert, spray with phosphoric acid, then rinse with water.

POR-15 will stick to bare metal with the correct prep. It will not stick to paint without a primer, though.

I am a huge advocate of rust destroyer. It is a top quality rust converter and it is reasonably priced. They used to carry it Home Depot. Now, you can order it online at epaints.com I painted a float trailer with it and the paint/primer lasted 8 years with no rust through(I sold it after that). I also primed the entire frame on my last series lla with a pad and top coated with black polyurethane top coat machine paint(scatrust brand). Its great stuff and I like it better than por 15.
