PO intercooler FU connection to intake...

The po fitted a big ass intercooler with some custom piping, but for all that trouble look at the collapsed flex pipe into the intake! I have to play with this because its got to be starving for air...I should be able to use some 90's to rig something up...anyone have some ideas before I piecemeal something....

silicone 90 and some unions. Guessing that when under boost its not kinked/collapsed. Sometimes you can shift things around and alleviate stuff like that.

It's kinked pretty good....unless it had a KKK turbo from a Porsche 930 it's not expanding. ...I am going to try some 90's. ..

That sharp 90 degree pipe coming off of the pressure side of the turbo isn't doing your airflow any favors. You generally want to keep any bends in the intercooler piping as smooth as possible.

Have any other pics of differnt angles of that hose going to the intake manifold? Cant see where it's coming from so cant really make any suggestions on how to tackle fixing it.

Here are a few more angles...you can see how it goes from the pressure side of the turbo then across the front of the fan and into the intercooler....then from the bottom of the intercooler it climbs up into the collapsed tube into the intake manifold...

If interested in a proper Intercooler and pipe set let me know. Can supply you with a. Nice Uprated model without all that crazy pipe work. Those bends are killing the flow.

Would the rad have to be changed? I thought the original 2.5 TD had a smaller Rad with the Intercooler beside it...

How big is the intercooler that the PO put in there?

Just remember that a more efficient intercooler setup will actually lower what you see as far as boost pressure as the pressure is also a measure of the restriction in your inlet side plumbing. Lower pressure but increased flow for the same volume of air in a more efficient system.
