I'm buying three and then working with a friend locally to box up and fly over with them. I'll be back in touch when I have them and the other parts together for purchase.

Naturally interested (diesel), as they are used? I would need a clear path or idea on how they are installed. price etc.

chat when you are ready.

Update on this soon to be dead thread, the webasto's i was looking at are only auxilliary heaters and would not operate in parking mode. I'm still on the hunt for these for us here in the US.

They should still be useable. At worst, they just are missing the pumps, which are simple to add. All the controls will be there to using in parking mode.

Got it. I've done what i think is more research on these and what I found was that ones that are thermo top Z/c-e or c-d are preprogrammed to speak the language of the car they were intended for. If that's not the case, it certainly opens up a larger pool of used and refurbished webasto's to choose from.

As far as I know, the models will have both CANBUS and manual control built in. What kind of deal are you thinking you will get on these?

That offer is no longer available and was largely due to sorting out whether it would work or not. Right now there's a few Thermo Top V's brand new with water pump in the UK and I have a friend who will accept packages for me then mail em on. I definitely need a manual one as I am going to hook it up to a GSM remote that has an app for iPhone. Just don't want to buy one that won't work by the time I get it to NJ.

thanks for your input.

Cheaper than you can get new here (~$800)? If so, including everything needed? This is where you have to be careful. Some extra parts can be pricey.

Well, considering a termotop c with wire harness, fuel filter, etc is on average $1K or more, I think I can put it all together including my gsm remote control for under $500, and I stress "think".

This. I hv a z from a freelander and it only needed a pump. Works in both modes.

at the OP's request, here are pics of my Z/C install. You can't see much though due to the breather manifold on top of it.

Thanks Mark, so I made the plunge and bought two thermo top Z's with circulating pump from 2001-2006 TD4 freelander from the UK, and they are already shipped. I'm going to get a set of dosing pumps and then build the wiring harnesses/relays and confirm they both work. Once that is done, I'll put one of them up for grabs.
