P1179 Fault Code

My check engine light has been coming on recently and my code reader is me telling it's P1179 Fault (AMFR max negative value). I've done a search, but found nothing on possible causes for a AMFR (Air Mass Flow Rate) One week prior to the first check engine light coming on, I installed a Mantec Snorkel. Could this be a possible reason? Has anyone else experienced a P1179 fault? Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks.
Noel

Noel, I got an 1179 a year of so ago and it was caused by a plugged fuel filter. pressure was ok but volume was low(happened after some good wheeling and it must of churned up some stuff in the tank)....injectors couldn't atomize the fuel properly...the engine runs lean because the ECU can't adjust for the low pressure, cats don't heat up properly, then the maf tries to richen the mixture, when it reaches the limit. it throws a the code.
toss a fram in there and give it try, could be fuel pump but try the filter first...also get some good contact cleaner(no residue) and clean the maf sensor in case you got some grime on the sensor
I use crc
