Opinions about Boge unit

I don't have one - but after seeing the squat I got with a load, thinking about adding one. I know they are prone to wear/failure - but when operational, seems worth while. Yes/no?

Don't really want to add stiffer rears as this doesn't really address the issue and harshens the ride when not loaded.

Anybody have an assembly the want to sell? (will also ask in WTB section)

thanks

You could probably snag one off an old RRC for cheap. You may have to modify it slightly, but the unit on my RRC looks like It could fit my Defender easy with little or no mod.

i just gave a friend a "boge" set up off of a rrc and i believe he was using it on a defender next. as far as i can tell it should be able to bolt up on a defender and the crossmember on the 89 rrc is very similar to the defender cross member, except the lack of mounting holes. i almost sure i have the cross member around here still, let me know if you would like some pics.

thanks guys. E-mails and PM's sent

Larry - don't think I need the cross member. The 110 cross frame has the mount holes in it already, so it should be a straight bolt up on top and a replacement of the lower perch and good to go (except for the whole prone-to-leaking boge unit issue)

Tony gets first dibs. But if any of you have them laying around your barns and want a 6 pack + shipping let me know as I wouldn't mind getting a working unit too. I think mine is blow on my RRC and want to try to see how it drives with a working boge in the back!

I also thought about doing this: http://www.landyonline.co.za/techtal...conversion.htm

Daniel - Jeff is getting me a unit, so if you want to do the beer and shipping deal with Phillip, go for it.
