one more bulkhead question

So my td5 bulkhead is missing one of the 4 square holes needed to mount the upper dash. Is there any way to retroactively punch a square cutout into metal? Or do I use a sheet metal screw and go out of sight out of mind?

Drill a hole then use a file to make it aware. How big of a hole?

I'd say a quarter inch square. Going to try the hole + file method tomorrow morning.
