OME shock bushings?

Any idea what a good substitute would be for the upper shock bushings (rear) ?

Neoprene, rubber, makes no difference, mine are just cooked with too much play.

Inquired what the cost of OME replacements were and first of all didn't have any in stock and second, they were stupid money ($40ea), so what else could I used?

I've noticed rounding around the edges and what looks like excessive play. I haven't removed them yet, but they do look like they've seen better days.

The OMEs are positioned before the axle as a second set of shocks and what looks like stock Land Rover units in the back of the axle. Not that that matters, but just painting a picture for you.

While I'm asking, who has done any touch-up painting on OME shocks?
Any off the shelf color that matches?

I need some of these too but $40 each is crazy talk. I haven't started searching yet, but are they really any different than stock bushings?

Mr. Treehorn did you ever find a source for these? Anyone recommend a replacement source, I don't care if they are proper OME I just want to get something so I can put the used shocks I bought on here on my truck and I need to get all the bushings, washers and spacers. Any reason why stock rover bushings wouldn't work?

I replaced mine twice. Both times the bushings just broke apart and I was running without bushings. Realized it when I heard a loud clank whenever I go over bumps. I have these parts numbers:

OMEB36 (I think these are bushings for the rear shocks) MSRP $10.00
OMEB78 ( I think these are bushings for the steering stabalizer) $8.00
OMEB42 (I think these are bushings for the front shocks) MSRP $25.00
