om617 turbo

Hi,anyone else have one in a Defender?

Simple question if you do,
My kkk k26 took a dump and cannot be repaired leaving the other option of the garrett T3.

Are there any clearance issues with the T3?

Thanks

Guess you haven't used the search function and found the member who makes these conversions happen.

Funny.....RD runs a KKK, looking for other members who've also installed the kit.

Don't suppose you've gotten one?

EDIT; I only post as a last resort, after hours of reading not finding a answer, then and only then will I ask or post for a little help/question

Search on here sucks. Use Google with defendersource in your query. Lots of info on here.

Thanks, yes have tried that also.

Too often the replies to a question are answered as above, not to offend rocky,to a lot of questions from people who just don't know how to word it or phrase it in the search.

My question is look for a smaller group of owners whom also purchased the RD kit.

I asked outside the build thread to draw a little attention for the question from other people.

I've kinda given up looking here keeping to the sale section

Worst part of it is the question rarely gets answer after that

Scrubs - wouldn't the Garrett turbo for the OM617 be the same size? I was going to say you should have a ton of room on the turbo side but you are RHD right? Probably pretty tight there.

Don,all I've found for images is two side by side one being a CAD to fit in the image mercedesscource would be that one.
Having bought too many parts that wouldn't fit due to images like that I wasn't satisfied.
Found another side by side on diesel bombers it think it was.

This one shows the garrett looking to be huge in comparison to the kkk.

Other than that there isn't much to be found.

Oh side bar note, during this search found a supplier who makes MB 605-6 adapters for the LR auto and maybe manual gear boxes...made me smile thinking about it too

More effective:

Put site:defendersource.com in your query.

I can take some pics and measurements of mine if you want. Not sure if I have a Garrett or the KKK but maybe can figure out?

Quick search says the Garretts are rebuildable which is a good thing.

To all reading, I really really believed that there were more LR owners with the om617a RD kit than just the 3 of us.

Thanks for search engine optimization suggestions
