oil line routing for serpentine egine

This happens to be a 94 D90 with a disco serpentine belt engine, but the key is that one line runs from the side of the pump and the other from under the block.

Stupid question time. Got my oil lines rebuilt, and didn't take pictures beforehand, took longer than I planned at the hydraulic ship, and now don't recall which went where.

Does the hose that goes to the pump (the one with the hole in the side of it) go to the top or bottom of the radiator? Does the orientation of the hole matter?

On the radiator side, does the top line drop down to the bottom or visa versa?

Pictures of the oil pump side of the serpentine setup would be nice too, to see the stock routing.

nm, i prowled the streets for a D1 and climbed under and took a look.

For the archives, the line that comes out of the side of the pump goes to the top.

Some would say having a single belt is easier to work on, and you only need to keep one spare. The engine front covers are different which also means a different oil pump - can't say if it's better or not. The alternator sits mid engine too - maybe keeps cleaner, therefore lasts longer?

Oh, I noticed the stock oil cooler lines are a lot cheaper, but I had mine rebuilt.

Easier to get the components off of a serp truck. For example, 40 minutes for a water pump v. 2 hours on V-belt.

Charles, if you've not done it yet, be careful screwing the new hoses onto the front cover, the threaded part on the cover is know to break off resulting in the need for an entire new front cover.

Nope, already done. Need to check for leaks after some driving, so will be sure to not overtighten it though!

thanks
