Rob - How many shop hours is it to remove the oil cooler and set up the engine/radiator to run without it?

General question: Why is a boost in oil pressure good on a 3.9 engine? What happens if you add a supercharger? Any impact?

If you can change you own oil, your can remove the oil cooler. It is straight forward. High mileage engines could use extra oil pressure.

I removed mine last August and in September drove from Miami to Baltimore in two days with the inside of the truck fully loaded, the back end was sagging. 70-80mph the whole way with the temp needle right in the middle. Removing the oil lines was no more difficult than replacing the oil filter. 15-30 minute job. Take it off and try it. If you think it runs hotter get the lines fixed at a hydraulic shop and put them back on.

Thanks, Pendy. Spoke with Rob on the phone. Looks like all it takes is a 30mm Hex and a few minutes. Have 135K miles on my truck.

Also have input from Solihull. Apparently ECR has a kit for $200 but I haven't checked it out yet.
