Red face Ohhhhh S*&^%!

My D90 keeps stalling out when I put it in first gear and slow down to stop. But it will run all day in nuetral. Any insight. Just please don't tell me i need to replace the entire clutch. Any help will be much appreciated.

well if you slow to a stop in any vehicle with a manual gearbox it will stall unless you push in the clutch pedal. We need more information miss

I put the car into first gear, then press the clutch and break.

Hey Bridgette, from the sound of it the clutch is not disengaging all the way. I would check the clutch fluid first. If the clutch was going bad it would slip rather then stick. If the clutch fluid is low you may have a leaky master or slave cylinder, not the end of the world and not expensive, the master is a pain to replace but doable. If you do end up needing either it is a good idea to replace both as they don't cost much and the most time consuming part is bleeding the system.

Do you feel the truck jerking as if the clutch is still engaged when it stalls?
