Odometer didn't roll over

I had taken a photo of my odometer at 89K and then when it should have rolled to90K, it stayed at 80. Not worried about the replacement, but would love suggestions on how to replace it and keep an accurate odometer reading for future sale potential.

Open it up and move it by hand. Usually they stop at 100k.

helpful, to open it up- is that just by removing it from the instrument panel from behind or do i have to do surgery on the front? Mark, my truck looks much younger with a fifth of Jack.
