Saw an add for an on bOard obd monitor. Keeps mpgs ect. Looked interesting and I was wondering if you can find one to monitor the temp constantly? Does the computer even do that?P

ODB-II does report engine temp, but I don't know what readers log that kind of thing.

I use a Davis carchip. It'll log a set user definable set of parameters for up to 30 days. Also reads and clears check engine codes.

thats a good question. i havent tried it on my 94 d90. original topic was on obd2, so if vehicle has the plug for obd2 code reader, I imagine it would work.

To be specific only the 97 is OBDII (gems motors). The 94 and 95 have 14CUX system which is more primitive but has a built in code reader.
