The "Check Engine" lit up yesterday, and I'm unfamiliar with OBD I. From my Disco I and II days (mercifully long gone), I have a scanner, but those were OBD II. I took it to O'Reilly, but they didn't seem to have LR adapters or really know how to deal with it.
That little box to the right of you ecu there will show a 2 digit code..that then transfers to the fault description.. To turn the light off disconnect the battery for 10 seconds and it will reset..
For 10 years or so I kept a printed copy of the code fault #'s in my owners manual; before we all had smart phones in our pockets 24/7.
