NoVA Inspector

Does anyone have a guy who does VA state vehicle inspections, and is liberal in interpreting the criteria? Nothing seriously wrong with my truck, but I need someone who understands Defenders are not like brand new BMWs. A knucklehead did everything except put a stethoscope on the engine and failed me this weekend for BS things. Grrrrr.
Feel free to PM me if you'd rather not respond publicly. Need some help.

I had decent luck with Shirlingon Road Exxon (NOT the Shell across from Shirlington Village!), it's across from the Weenie Beenie. One of the guys there has had/has a D1 and gets Rovers

More recently I started using Lincolnia Automotive for many things, April paraded Coyote through there with flying colors but I can't speak to how much attention they were paying to the truck...

I'm not 100% sure but I believe if your vehicle has failed it is now in the state system and the next shop will have access to the information when he loads the vin.

Also, when they do inspections they are working for the state (er, commonwealth) and not for themselves. They are technically authorized contractors and must meet certain standards. In other words, you probably won't get a "looser" shop to pass you on what failed.
Your best bet is to work with the shop where you took it and find out what needs to be done to pass.

Ray, I'm not below putting on a skirt to get some "consideration" at this point. Or offering malted beverages.
