Non LR question

Just bought off lease my Honda Pilot 2006. Car is suddenly hard to turn over if it has sat still over night (of course) or all day. When starting, its a slow crank, Sounds like it will not hold a charge so I am thinking battery bad, starter gone.
History - no issues other than the battery ran cold twice in 6 months (kids left the back interior lights on).

Obviously the off to the shop but looking to manage costs: what can I do first to define the issue ?

Anytime I have drained a battery like you did more than once it shortened the life of the battery. Buy a new bat first.

Dont buy a Napa batt, my friends shop has been having a lot of problems with them. I had two fail in a span of 3 months.

1st i'd say battery, (easiest and cheapest thing to look at first)

2nd, dirty contacts in the starter solenoid or bendix.
