Non Forum Members and Oil Lines

I pulled into a gas station yesterday and @ the pump next to me was an immaculate white 97 SW and a distraught looking guy on the phone pacing back and forth. I asked if he needed any help. Turns out his truck wouldn't start and he couldn't get it out of park. I knew there was a trick to this and couldn't remember what it was so I called Evilfij and Drew Swoboda. They had me change the fuse for the brake lights and problem solved. Once we had it running I asked the guy about himself. His name was Shawn and he was from the Savannah area and recently moved to Virginia. He had no idea about this site so I had him write down the link. He mentioned he had owned his truck for 12 years as his daily driver and this was the first problem he's had. I then asked if he had changed his oil lines and got got a blank look. He had no idea.
My point with all of this is when you see a defender out there no matter how immaculate it is, for the trucks sake, make sure the owner is aware he's got a time bomb.

The assumption that most know and have taken care of this keeps proving false.

Good deed Uncle Doouhg.

If I were to do that... I'll be shot. They'll think is a carjacking.

You crack me up Pedro. I think if you start a conversation with "doooood", the way you always do,no one will shoot you.

Hopefully Shawn will pop up on the forum @ some point. Nice guy.

Eric at Trail Head 4x4 has a complete Kit for any Rover.

http://www.trailhead4x4.com/30464.html

I've dealt with him for a Group Buy and he's stellar. A great guy to deal with.

I have put trailhead on a '95, two '97s and a '93. Good price compared to other sources.

You probably deal with more non "enthusiast" owners than anyone...

Do you sell your trucks with the upgraded lines?

Good Job
Eric

Eric maybe you could get AB to post something on the front of your website, maybe the fine folks at Rovers North will do the same.
